State Bar offered full refunds and free retakes to all affected applicants. California Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Tom Umberg called for formal audit. Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky condemned 'stunning incompetence.' Three federal lawsuits consolidated into one class action (McDowell v. ProctorU, 5:25-cv-00705, N.D. Cal.) by bar exam takers. State Bar of California filed its own lawsuit (State Bar of California v. ProctorU, Inc., No. 25STCV13089, L.A. Superior Court) on May 5, 2025, amended March 2026 with internal Meazure documents. Provisional License Program expanded for affected first-time takers. Court approved score adjustments for affected takers. Meazure sought to dismiss class action in October 2025.
